11 days into JULY! And the heat has finally reached simmering. We had rain (even out here) from March until now, with cooler than normal temps. We are hoping the extended cool helped our trees to take better root than last year, although about 10 of them are not going to make it. That leaves 17 little Guys pining for life...
I had a splendid visit to Missouri last month. We did plenty of laying around reading our Twilight Saga, sharing notes, and talking into the night. Had a sleepover with Jennie, during which she prepared a near FEAST for us! We reminisced on her back deck with the CDs I made her, dancing, singing, laughing and petting animals! Good times! Plus a great shopping day-the day of "Lumpy Junk" and Jennie making infamous the phrase "Me Liiiikey!"
Spent some time lounging at Mom's, and just sort of being...The trip to St. Louis to see my Dad was so memorable. We had a nice lunch and a relaxing visit to a nearby beautiful park where we fed fish and took pictures. It was so nice to just sit on the bench with him there and be our goofy selves. Later, we helped him organize his apartment and unpack some of his things. This was fun to see, as he "felt like he was in a new place" when we were done. We stayed that night (Tam and I) in a nice Marriott hotel that Dad's boss got us into. It was very clean (as you know how picky I am), had a little kitchen and two bedrooms (which of course we snickered at). The next day, we met Dad for breakfast at good ol' Denny's and headed to the Science Center. It was cool, mostly interactive stuff for kids, and very busy. So after a short trek around, we settled into an Omnimax film "Fly Me To The Moon". Very cute, and somewhat informative!
Such a wonderful visit with Dad...and then back to Fayette to do some more lounging and reading for a few days longer before heading back home on the 20th.
My Megan treated me to a GREAT time at the Colorado Renaissance Festival on the 28th! It was Celtic-Gaelic Day, so there were men in kilts and bag pipes...right up my alley! The weather was perfect, overcast, easy temp and just a 10-15 minute medium rain at one point. Right away we had some fun playing dress up in one of the shops. Megan even got a darling crochet halter that she changed into for the day! We watched a comedy show and an acrobatic act while sipping beers, and got in some much needed chatting. (We're soooo deep). I think my favorite parts might have been the car rides to and from, and the lite supper at the "biker hang out" on the way home. It was awesome to get out with My Girl and just laugh and relax. Thanks Meg!
On the homefront:
Jack is a kid in a ..... billiard store the last few days! He was able to hook up with a guy to trade a small home repair for a POOL TABLE! Yes, the Beagles are officially owners of a nice (almost free) Brunswick table. Should promise many hours of organized fun. EVERYONE is excited. Jack just picked up the felt today, and is actually going to try to re-cover it himself. I think it will be a late night tonight. And yes, we also obtained the token "Lite Beer" table light, which will serve the purpose and will surely be the brunt of endless jokes. (Come on over!)
Megan's Mom and Step-Dad will be in town the week of the 19th, and have a day planned riding the Pike's Peak Railway Tour. I was lucky enough to be invited, and am SO looking forward to it. It is a 3 hour tour (yes "a threeee hour tourrr") of beautiful Pike's Peak and surrounding loveliness. I only hope I can talk Jack into taking the day off to join us. Will post pictures after...
That will bring us to Gena's birthday party the 24th, which will surely be good times, and then we'll be closing out July and heading toward the end of summer. Time flies, but I am blessed and happy to have actually gotten out a bit! And I still have August to go!

June...
Summer does not officially begin until June 21st, but June 1st is my marker. So Summer is here, and our weather is quite lovely. We have seen more rain in the last 4 weeks than any other Spring in several years. The temperatures have also been (on average) in just the 70's. Late morning walks with Kacey, and evenings on the back deck with both Kacey and Jack are my favorite things right now.
Gearing up for my Missouri Trip in just 12 days. Oh, shoes will be a challenge for me this time! Bringing lots of jammies and work out wear to join Tami and Mom on the Bulldog track each morning....after coffee of course! We always say we are going to pretend to be on a fat farm when we visit each other, but we enjoy our food together so much, that that is quickly blown by the waaaay side! But we will get in our walking and running-Very exciting!
Have some shopping days and a grand trip to St. Peters/STL to visit Dad planned out too! Will have to write about that in July. :)
Jack has been staying very busy in the yard. We had some rock delivered recently, so as to finally clean in the areas around the back deck and relieve Kacey of the constant hitchhiking cockleburs and goatheads. Between that and weed control, he has worked up a nice Italian tan, a sore back and a little bit of pride. He is itching to get back to work though, which has been a bit slow since the remodel extravaganza packed up and moved on. Inspections were much slower than we expected for May and the mailbox is relentlessly producing those little "pay now" papers. They look quite pretty lined up in my folder where they will just have to practice their patience!
As for our other journey...Body is all healed up and moving along. Mind is trying to keep up. Definitely ready for whatever the Lord allows into this pathway of ours. Have a wonderful June!

Spring Has Sprung!
Wow! I am excited and anxious for this month as it progresses, because we have so many plans! Spring has definitely sprung all over causing business to pick up, phones to ring, and friends and family to come back out of their hollows!
So far we've got one Birthday celebrated, and several more to go, including my Meggy who I will be spending the night with for her (clearing throat) 31st! Plus we've got 2 car shows, a visit to the Springs, A Castle Rock BBQ, Memorial Day, Lunches, Movie Dates....Fun!!!
I am also planning a trip to Missouri for later in June. And get this: I am planning that trip AROUND MY COUSIN (SSS) VISITING ME on her way to get her Mom moved back to Oregon from Missouri! I just simply CANNOT believe it! I have seen her just TWICE in the last 15+ years, about 3 years ago, and she has never seen my home or met Jack! This is really special and exciting for me, and I am SO grateful that she thought of the idea! (Go Lisa!)
I am recommitting myself to marketing the inspection part of the business and scrapbooking too. I also need to lose 15 pounds. So I've got my work cut out for me! Please say a prayer that Jack develops a sudden unexplained aversion to sugar to help me along! :)

Moving On
Well, it is time to move on. As you all know, except my Dear Cousin who I need to talk to, we said goodbye to what would have been on Friday night. It was the most terrible thing that we have endured together thus far, but Jack was by my side through the entire episode which included fainting and chucking along with the usual cramping/contractions and expulsion. Due to Jack's amazing care and attention, we did not have to go to the hospital, (it was touch and go there) and are pretty certain that medical intervention will not be needed. But for those concerned, we are monitoring carefully my condition and temperature.
We don't doubt or regret the hope and faith and trust we held onto over the 3 weeks leading up to the ordeal. As my loving and understanding husband (in his gallant attempt at balanced counsel) stated: "I got the shaft". However, we have resigned that we believe we will likely never know the reason for the "unanswered" prayers. We do not believe there to be a "lesson" in this happening either. And are not really feeling the whole "everything happens for a reason" adage'. Simply, God's thoughts and ways are higher than ours, and there are just some things that we will never understand. If we understood everything, we would be omniscient ourselves, and that would take away from God's Glory.
The main reason for this post, is simply to let anyone interested know that I will be deleting all previous posts in the next few days. I may re-read them one last time for closure. There is no way to archive them that I can find, and I feel strongly that it is time to move onward and upward, with faith and hope intact.
Jack and I both thank our wonderful family and friends for the loving support we felt from you during this awful and tragic time. You each were and are a major part of our sustenance and recovery. May the Lord bless and keep each of you, and may His face shine brightly upon you.
